On September 21, 2026, the Republic of Albania became the 73rd nation to sign the Artemis Accords. The signing ceremony was hosted at NASA's headquarters in Washington, DC. Representing Albania, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, signed the accords.
The event also saw participation from Connor Tomlinson, the U. S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Environment.
This move aligns with Albania’s growing interest in space, demonstrated by the launch of its Earth-observation satellites, Albania-1 and Albania-2, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 in January 2023. These satellites were launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
