expired · active · official-source
* WHAT...Temperatures as low as 33 to 36 degrees will result in frost formation. * WHERE...In Oregon, Clackamas County Cascade Foothills, North Oregon Coast Range, North Oregon Coast Range Lowlands, Outer Southeast Portland Metro, Upper Hood River Valley, Cascade Foothills of Marion and Linn Counties, Lane County Cascade Foothills, and Linn County Lowlands Counties. In Washington, North Clark County Lowlands and South Washington Cascade Foothills Counties. * WHEN...Until 9 AM PDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is high confidence (80-90% chance) for sub-freezing temperatures below 32 degrees in Parkdale and Dee this morning. However, the majority of the Upper Hood River Valley should remain above freezing with lows of 33 to 36 degrees, including in Odell. Take steps now to protect tender outdoor plants from the cold. Consider temporarily moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they are sensitive to cold temperatures. Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight cotton fabric (i.e., bedsheets, thin blankets), as this will help retain heat and provide frost protection for your plants.
